Albion are meeting their fans' wishes with their early work in the transfer market.
But there is still scope for reinforcements in the full-back berths, especially if Pervis Estupinan leaves.
We asked you for your views on what the Seagulls must do this summer as part of our end-of-season survey.
Of course, the transfer window moves quickly.
And Albion have probably worked quicker than expected since the season ended.
Deals for Tommy Watson, Yoon Do-young and Stefanos Tzimas had already been done ahead of the summer.
We knew Olivier Boscagli has reached agreement to join the club in July.
But, sicne we asked our questions, there has since been brisk movement on deals for Charalampos Kostoulas up front and Diego Coppola at the back, although the second of those remains subject to official confirmation.
So what were you saying and what still needs to be done?
Getting on for three-quarters of you were looking for an upgrade in the back-line in some way.
So let’s break that down and see whether Albion have met those wishes already.
Centre-back topped the list
This question was not a tick-the-box multiple-choice. We left it up to you to word your replies.
We have had a good trawl through the feedback – and thanks for taking the trouble to give us your views - and we calculate 27.6% of them specified the need for a centre-back.
Coppola and Boscagli could ease that need over the coming weeks.
Several added the word “pace” in defence and there were a few who said specifically a left-sided centre-back.
We wait to see how the newcomers perform in terms of pace but Boscagli certainly covers the left of defence.
Coppola has operated in a back three with Hellas Verona but was the right-sided centre-back in a four as he helped Italy under-21s beat Slovakia 1-0 in the Euros.
As well as the 27.6% who said the priority was at centre-back. A further 9.2% just said a more general “defence”.
The full-back roles
It appears you would like to add a full-back or two, especially on the right.
The answer from 10.3% was “full-back”. On top of that, 16.5% said “right-back” and 5.4% said “left-back”.
So almost a third of the answers highlighted the full-back positions in general.
One specifically said “left wing-back” and another wanted a “right-back inverting”.
A few you said Albion need to add in both full-back positions.
In attack
Of your many replies, 26.4% called for, in different ways, a forward.
One even asked for a young striker. A proper striker. Another said a striker who gets goals.
Kostoulas looks a proper striker and is certainly young so he just needs to get the goals.
One of you said: “A main No.9 to support Welbeck.”
Other areas – midfield and goalkeeper
Seven of you highlighted midfield as a summer priority but in different ways.
“Right midfield – the Gross gap,” said one. A couple said “defensive midfield” and one said “attacking midfielder” while another added “playmaker”.
Four of you put goalkeeper as the priority, although one added that was based on Bart Verbruggen leaving.
One of you felt Albion need another winger but we are not sure if that was a bit of irony.
Maybe it was anticipating departures. A handful of replies said “depends who they sell” or words to that effect.
In reality, Albion do not tend to buy players to replace those who have just gone.
It is usually more forward-thinking than that.
Which, admittedly, means we probably asked you a tough question!
Albion’s best signings
We also asked which signing of the last two years has had most impact.
This was, quite fittingly, a one-horse race.
Georginio Rutter, whose love of horse-racing as well as football is well known, cantered away with this one, polling 60% of your votes.
Carlos Baleba (19.8%) was just ahead of Yankuba Minteh (18.2%) for second place.
A few others got a handful of votes – with Joao Pedro’s dramatic recent drop in popularity reflected in the results.
Just four of you felt he was the signing from the last two years to have had most impact, which feels very low.
There were also mentions for Diego Gomez, Mats Wieffer, James Milner, Matt O’Riley, Brajan Gruda and a few others who signed for the club well before 2023.
“Minteh overall for his goals and assists but would have gone for Rutter if not injured,” one of you told us.
Another said: “Was slightly confused by the Rutter signing at first but he was excellent from January to March and a big loss when he got injured.”
The fact injuries prevented last summer’s signings showing their best came up a few times in your replies.
“None of them had time to make an impact. Wait until next season,” one reply told us.
On a similar theme, one reader who voted for Gomez added: “With a pre-season under his belt, he will be one to watch next season.”
Who he will have alongside him remains to be seen.
But it appears Albion are getting there and meeting fans’ wishes so far.
