Former Albion captain Dean Hammond has left his role at Worthing.
The assistant manager will join up with his former manager Chris Agutter at Sutton.
Agutter moved to the National League outfit last week to succeed Steve Moriosn, who was sacked after the recent 2-1 defeat at home to Albion under-21s.
The Argus reported yesterday that Hammond was expected to follow him.
He had been handed interim charge at Worthing for three games, culminating in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at home to Robbie Savage’s Forest Green on Monday.
But a red card near the end of Saturday’s 1-0 league defeat at Maidenhead meant he would have been suspended for the cup tie.
Rebels are therefore looking for a boss before facing Savage’s high-flying side live on TNT Sport.

Aarran Racine, who guided Worthing to the National League south play-off final about 18 months ago, looks the obvious man to step in at short notice.
In a statement, Worthing FC said: “The club extend their sincere thanks for all that Dean has contributed in his spell with us and wish him every success in his new role.”
