Kaoru Mitoma is expected to make a December return for Albion.
The club’s medical staff are doing all they can to get the winger back into action.
Mitoma will not feature at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
But head coach Hurzeler said on Thursday morning he "definitely" sees him being back this side of Christmas.
Mitoma suffered a kick to the foot earlier this season and has been in too much discomfort for Premier League action.
He has been shown by the club out training with Solly March.
But he has not featured since going off in the 3-1 win at Chelsea in late September.
Hurzeler will not bring him back all the time he feels pain in his ankle and foot.
Asked soon after the recent win over Brentford about Mitoma’s condition, Hurzeler said: “I don't feel the pain for him, so it's difficult to say what kind of pain you getting.
“It's just pain. What I mean with this is structure-wise, he's fine.
“He just needs to handle the pain, for example, when he's kicking a ball like 100%, and he feels a little bit.
“I can't describe what pain he's feeling there, but it's just a thing he needs to work out.
“We need to work out with him together and then it's just, I think, a short break for him and hopefully he will be back soon.
“I can't see in the future but we have great experts around us.

“We are keen on getting him back so we try everything, but I don't know when the pain will be away.
“I'm quite convinced that it can't take like that long.”
Tommy Watson will add to Albion's wing options at the City Ground after a brief absence.
