Solly March is feeling “really good” as he works towards another comeback.
The winger has not played for seven months but is back in training.
He had previously been sidelined for more than a year by a major knee injury but had ten appearances in the second half of last season.
He has recently been pictured training with Kaoru Mitoma, who is also out of action.
Asked how March was progressing, Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler said: “Really good, really good.
“I just spoke to him and he's doing well. He seems to be in a really good place, positive, looking forward to be back on the pitch.
“And that might be the next question, when he will be back on the pitch?
“So, I think we see him in the training in two or three weeks, so it's getting really close, and therefore we are all happy.”
That could open the way for March to play in the FA Cup third round, as he did last season when he scored at Norwich City.
Fellow winger Tommy Watson has returned to training after a minor injury and could be part of the matchday squad at Nottingham Forest.
Hurzeler said: “Everything is fine regarding the loads, regarding how his body reacts after his training week. For sure he can be an option.
“He was a little bit unlucky at the moment with the small issues.
“They are not big injuries but just small issues, which stops him to get really into rhythm.
“I think he proved already in this season what he's capable of doing for us, that he has big potential, but it's really about getting him into rhythm, getting him back to his physical fitness.
“When you're physically fit, then you're mentally ready and when you're mentally ready, then you come into a pitch with a big self-confidence, with a big belief in your quality, and that's what we try to get out of him.
“But the main thing is really stay fit, stay healthy, try to get into rhythm, and then I think he can play an important part for us."
