Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche will accept no excuses if his side look jaded against Albion.

Forest are back in action on Sunday less than 72 hours after beating Malmo in the Europa League.

They have struggled with the quick turnaround, winning just one of four previous Premier League games after a midweek European outing.

But Dyche was able to make sweeping changes to his line-up as they beat Malmo 3-0.

The Forest boss said: “The Europa League is a big league and an important one.

“But some of these players have been through varying ways of working, where they’ve had lots of games.

“Some are internationals. Some have played in the Championship, where it’s relentless anyway.

“I don’t overthink it. I don’t really make too many excuses about it. The games are there.

“We all know the fixtures. It’s how we plan professionally, to make sure the players are recovered enough, but also energised enough. So I think that’s the balance.”

Albion visited Crystal Palace in similar circumstances three weeks ago and were disappointed with a 0-0 draw in which they generally looked the brighter team.

Morgan Gibbs-White (back) and Murillo (hamstring) will be assessed by Forest ahead of the game.

Ola Aina (thigh), Douglas Luiz (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (hip) are expected to miss out.

Albion winger Tommy Watson is expected to be fit after missing recent games with a minor problem.

He would compete for a place on the bench.

Injured duo Kaoru Mitoma and James Milner are hoping to return to action before Christmas.
