Fabian Hurzeler hopes Albion have cleared the air for their supporters after celebrating at Nottingham Forest.

Goals from Max De Cuyper and Stefanos Tzimas near the end of either half secured a 2-0 success at the City Ground.

They also weathered a lot of second-half pressure back at the scene of a 7-0 mauling ten months earlier.

In the end, the post-game scenes were similar to those of exactly two years previously, when they won at Forest with ten men.

Albion boss Hurzeler said: “We definitely enjoyed it today.

“I think we played well. We started the game good.

“Of course, when you arrive here, you have some memories regarding last season, but overall we came here to clean the air.

“Not only for us, also for our supporters, for our fans, and therefore, I'm quite happy that they have a good weekend.”

Albion have three clean sheets from their last four games.

Hurzeler added: “Of course, we suffered in certain moments in the second half, especially with the wingers from Nottingham.

“They brought on some good individual quality but I think overall we defended the box quite well.

“Of course, you can use a one-against-one dual, but how do you defend afterwards?

“How do you defend the box? How do you stick together.

“How do you also suffer through this period together?

“That was impressive today and then, on top of that, we created a lot of chances in possession.

“Also in the second half, we had some big moments, so overall it was a good performance.

“For us it is always about the club, about doing something for the fans, doing soething for the staff members.

“Doing it together with my players. How can we maximise the success?

“We know that last season we weren’t on our highest level here.

“We know that was a bad moment for everyone in the club.

“But the most important in life is always how you react to these kinds of things, how you come back, how you stand up, how you react to failure.

“I think therefore you needed today players with big personality, players with a big self-belief with big self-confidence and a group that that sticks together and that's what I saw today.”
