Albion showed two sides to their game as they played some super football and defended with steel.
This is how they fared as individuals within a superbly planned team display.
Bart Verbruggen 7/10
Another clean sheet - that's four in his last six games for club and country. Not forced into many heroics but made a sharp save low down at 1-0 and was commanding in and around his box.
Mats Wieffer 8/10
Not a natural right-back but plays older than his 26 years and can add in terms of movement and getting forward. Certainly played his part in attacking but looked disappointed to see his low shot go across the face of goal in the first half.
Jan Paul van Hecke 8/10
Lots of valuable defending as Brighton protected their one-goal lead and one particular block from Hudson-Odoi deep in the penalty area stands out in the memory. Has had better games in possession.
Lewis Dunk 9/10
Is back to his commanding best form, certainly as a defender, and he was a big reason why this third clean sheet of four games was completed. One last-ditch diversion to the hands of the Verbruggen was precious. And his passing, especially going long and spreading play, impressed.
Ferdi Kadioglu 7/10
Is on a run of games at left-back and adds a lot to the build-up and attacking play. Was caused a few problems defensively in the second half but had a positive afternoon.
Yasin Ayari 7/10
So quick and tidy on the ball and the under-rated worker in the general in Albion midfield operation. Hurzeler wants him to pose more of a threat on goal and he had a couple of efforts here.
Diego Gomez 7.5/10
Can play various roles and he was more central here, but he always brings that strength, athleticism and directness and there were one or two occasions where he showed a pleasing willingness to get into the penalty box.
Yankuba Minteh 6.5/10
Was always a potential threat, although he had one of his more frustrating days in terms of final pass or decision. Another who works tirelessly
Georginio Rutter 7/10
Had a shot blocked in front of goal early on and was a lively presence in the No.10 role, not least when he played the ball in for the opening goal. His afternoon met a painful end.

Max De Cuyper 8/10
Perhaps the surprise of the starting XI as he played in an advanced role, which took him back to his youth days at Brugges, and quickly caught the eye by delivering some very tempting balls in from the left-hand side. Got into a centre-forward position for his clinically taken opening goal. Another who offers a range of possibilities.
Danny Welbeck 7/10
Led the build-up and the press from the front, even though there was to be no glory moment on this occasion. A diligent, hard-working performance on his 500th appearance in club football.
Subs – Stefanos Tzimas 7/10
Looked like he might be struggling to get into the game for a while. Then showed a striker's instinct to follow up and knock in the killer second goal.
Jack Hinshelwood 7/10
Maybe too soon after injury for a start but played a good solid role.
Joel Veltman, Brajan Gruda, Carlos Baleba N/A
Went on to protect the lead and Gruda played a part in the second goal, which he should have scored himself.
