DULWICH HAMLET 3 CHICHESTER CITY 1

MARK DACEY’S Dulwich Hamlet made it three wins on the bounce in front of a jubilant crowd of 3,132 at Champion Hill as they rounded off an eventful February.

Dacey’s side enter the final ten games of the league season in fine form with an outside chance of reaching the play-offs.

Club legend Nyren Clunis fired the Hamlet ahead after just five minutes.

Defeating the offside trap, Sol Baugh drove down the left-hand side before squaring it to the so-called ‘King of Camberwell’ who fired it into the back of the net.

Chichester thought they had found an equaliser six minutes later, only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Despite first-half pressure, Chichester couldn’t make it count as the Hamlet headed in ahead at the break.

The second half started with a bang as veteran striker Danny Mills latched onto the end of a ball from Toby Bull and lobbed the keeper to put the men in pink and blue on track for three points.

Chichester did find a route back into this one though, striker Jimmy Wild beat Michael Chambers on the turn before sending the ball over a helpless Toby Bull in the Hamlet goal.

But 13 minutes from time the points were wrapped up by the hosts as Luke Wanadio played the ball into Baugh who fired home from close range.

The win moves the Hamlet into 11th but remain eight points off Billericay Town – who beat runaway leaders Folkstone Invicta – in the final spot of the play-off places.

Chichester City sit 13th in the table.

STAR MAN: Sol Baugh (Dulwich Hamlet)
