Plumpton Racecourse are going into extra-time to round off their 2025-26 season.

The Mid-Sussex course will stage a special Twilight Raceday on Tuesday following the disappointment of losing the final scheduled fixture of the season.

Thanks to approval from the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), racegoers have one final opportunity to enjoy an evening at Plumpton before the summer break, ahead of the racecourse’s return in September.

The BHA abandoned a Plumpton race meeting early this month as a precautionary measure due to a confirmed case of equine influenza and EHV-4.

The highly contagious virus was detected in an unvaccinated, non-thoroughbred horse stabled at a livery yard immediately adjacent to the racecourse's stable area

Set against the backdrop of an early summer evening in the Sussex countryside, the Twilight Raceday offers something for everyone, whether guests are heading straight from work, looking for a relaxed local evening out, or enjoying half-term activities with the family. Children can make the most of garden games on the lawn while adults enjoy the excitement of live racing in Plumpton’s welcoming atmosphere.

Nestled in the glorious Sussex countryside, Plumpton Racecourse is one of the smallest racecourses in the country, celebrated for its intimate atmosphere, picturesque setting and warm welcome. Offering a uniquely close-up racing experience, Plumpton has become a much-loved gem of the South Downs for racegoers and locals alike.

Advance tickets are available from just £10, with under 18s admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Gates open at 4pm, the first race is at 5.37pm and the final race is listed for 8.39pm.
