Albion manager Micky Adams is promising changes in the quest for a first home League victory of the season.

Adams has given a broad hint that replacing Tommy Elphick will not be the only alteration he makes against rock-bottom Hereford at Withdean tomorrow.

Elphick is suspended from the centre of defence following his fifth booking in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Leeds, which stretched the Seagulls’ winless run in League One to seven games.

“We’ve had a good look at the lads this week,” Adams said.

“I think there are a few players that deserve an opportunity to come in and show what they can do and they are going to be given their chance.

“Both teams need a win. We certainly need a win, not for confidence – I don’t see a great lack of that – but just for a little bit of belief.

“If we can get that it might kick start us again. We have redoubled our efforts since Leeds but that was always going to be a tough game.

“They are a good side and if you finish above Leeds, Leicester and Scunthorpe you have got automatic promotion.

“The beauty this early in the season is that there is another game just around the corner, against a different team, in different circumstances with different weather – everything is different.

“It’s up to us to bounce back and I am very confident. We have got some exciting games to look forward to in the next four or five weeks and a victory would be a big fillip.”

Adams, as revealed yesterday on The Argus website, has been frustrated so far in his bid to bolster his injury-hit squad with more loan signings in preparation for a gruelling nine games in 29 days in all competitions.

One piece of good news is the imminent comeback of Kevin McLeod, missing since early September following knee surgery. The winger could be on the bench tomorrow if he suffers no reaction to his return to training.

Who would you bring in to the team?
