Russell Slade has denied claims made by former club Yeovil that he was sacked for gross misconduct.

The Albion boss has also accused Yeovil of reneging on a compensation agreement following his departure last month from one of the Seagulls' League One relegation rivals.

Slade said: "I want to confirm that at no stage have I ever committed any misconduct at Yeovil or indeed at any time during my career."

He says a compensation package was agreed with Yeovil in writing 12 days after he parted company with the club.

"After accepting the job with Brighton, and following Yeovil's recent results, Yeovil have now tried to completely renege on our agreement," Slade added.

The Albion chief has now put the matter in the hands of the League Managers' Association's lawyers.
