Lukas Dryml enjoyed a glorious return to his former home by inspiring Eastbourne to a welcome away point.

The Czech charger reeled off four heat victories during a sparkling 15-point haul as Trevor Geer’s men went down fighting by just six points.

Dryml showed his parent club what they are missing with an explosive display capped by a cracking final heat triumph that ended a barren run of three pointless meetings.

In fact had Eastbourne offered more in reserve, they may well have left with more than a consolation point.

While Peterborough No.7 Claus Vissing stole the show with a stunning seven-ride, paid 19-point performance, points were in short supply at the bottom of the Eagles order. Swedish duo Ricky Kling and Simon Gustafsson managed just two between them.

The Eagles burst out of the blocks to record a 5-1 in the opening heat at the Showground and the teams traded maximum scorelines through the opening five instalments with Panthers emerging with a 17-13 advantage after heat five.

The visitors remained in close proximity throughout – largely thanks to the exploits of Dryml and ten-point skipper Davey Watt – and it took Panthers until a shared penultimate heat to wrap up their success.

But Dryml made sure the visitors didn’t depart empty-handed with a fourth success of the night in the finale.
