Nathan Crabb and Jamie Taylor got the goals as Eastbourne Borough earned their first away win of the campaign with a 2-0 success at Kidderminster.

Crabb netted after 37 minutes with his first in the league this season to stun the hosts and Taylor wrapped up victory deep into stoppage time.

Missing four key players, Borough produced an heroic display.

They were were under pressure for much of the first half and produced more stoic defending after the interval as the home challenge faded.

Skipper Paul Armstrong (bruised hip) was among the absentees along with suspended goalkeeper Danny Knowles.

Michael Jordan made his first league start of the season while Darren Baker returned to the team in the unusual position of left-back.

The hosts lost striker Robbie Matthews through injury after only 17 minutes but his replacement, John Finnigan, threatened soon after coming on with a goalbound strike which Marc Pullan deflected away for a corner.

Then came two great chances inside a minute for Kidderminster captain Chris McPhee. His first, a header, was pushed on to the bar by Jordan who saved with his legs seconds later from the same player.

Against the run of play, Borough went ahead eight minutes before the break when Taylor swivelled in the penalty area before crossing low and hard from the left byline for Nathan Crabb running in to fire home from close range.

With something to hold on to, Borough defended stoutly in the second half before almost doubling their lead on 73 minutes when Simon Weatherstone's shot was blocked on the line by Lee Baker after a swift move involving Taylor and Nathan Crabb.

This sparked a good spell for the visitors. After more good work from Taylor, home defender Martin Riley made a great tackle at the near post to thwart Matt Crabb at the expense of a corner.

From the corner, Gary Elphick's goalbound header was tipped over the bar by Coleman.

Kidderminster piled on the pressure in the closing stages but never really looked like beating Jordan and instead conceded a second in the 94th minute when Taylor intercepted a sloppy pass from Duane Courtney and ran on to finish with aplomb into the corner.
