Albion boss Russell Slade is poised to loan out more of his fringe players after the temporary move of striker Craig Davies to Yeovil.

He has also not ruled out further borrowing by the Seagulls following the capture of Arsenal right-back Gavin Hoyte, who makes his home debut against Gillingham tonight.

Slade said: “Certainly there are one or two players who at this stage need to go out and get some football. I think that is important, then if they come back they are ready to play.

“We are probably lacking a little bit of experience in one or two areas as well. We are not a million miles away but I still think we can improve.

“You can do most of that business in the January window. In the meantime it would be loans only and if we can find the right ones to bring in and improve us then clearly we will have a close look at it.”

Albion have taken only three points out of 15 so far at Withdean and Slade will make changes tonight in search of a much-needed home win.

“To win one at home and lose four is just not on,” he said. “We are picking up points away and we were bitterly disappointed at Yeovil on Saturday not to get three but that is the pressure that comes from not winning at home.

“If we had won four at home and lost one it would be a completely different picture but that is not the case, so we have got to do something about it.

“Withdean shouldn’t be any factor at all. It’s two teams fighting it out for three points and we should have home advantage.

“The fans are magnificent for us every week. It might not be the ideal place to be playing your football week in and week out but it’s our home ground and we should be turning more of our performances into wins.

“We are playing some attractive football in parts but we need to maintain a certain standard and consistency. Only that way will we start winning.

“Whilst we haven’t got that consistency the team is not picking itself and that allows me to make changes. I am searching for that recipe that can take us on a nice, unbeaten run.”

Liam Dickinson is available for selection. The three-goal striker has recovered from the ankle injury which forced him off in the 2-2 draw at Yeovil.
