Albion will go worldwide if necessary in the hunt for players capable of helping them land the League One title next season.
The Seagulls are broadening their horizons following the recruitment of 37-year-old Spaniard Zigor Aranalde as chief scout.
The former Walsall and Carlisle left-back will head up a new-look scouting network searching for players for manager Gus Poyet, irrespective of nationality.
Poyet’s assistant Mauricio Taricco revealed to The Argus: “It will be wide – it could be wider than Europe."
