ASHLEY Barnes is keeping an open mind about his future after his third goal in six games for Albion.

The striker on loan from relegation-bound Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle has not ruled out signing for Gus Poyet’s Seagulls next season.

Barnes, scorer of the only goal in Saturday’s win at Southend, has not heard much from Plymouth or manager Paul Mariner since moving last month.

The 20-year-old revealed: “He (Mariner) sent me a text when I scored against Southampton just to say well done.

“I haven’t spoken to them at all yet. I am here until the end of the season and then you never know what might happen.

“I have got another year at Plymouth after this season, so we will just have to see what happens at the end of the season and where we can go.

“It has been amazing. I never dreamt of this move to even be happening. I am enjoying it so much, the style of football they play, and I just can’t thank the gaffer enough.”
