Albion have reluctantly decided to withdraw an appeal against Diego Arismendi’s controversial red card at MK Dons on Saturday.
The Seagulls have taken the decision after analysing video evidence, the referee’s report and consulting with Arismendi’s parent club Stoke.
Punishments can be increased if appeals are deemed as frivolous by the Football Association.
Arismendi will now serve a three-match ban, ruling him out of Albion’s final game at home to Yeovil on Saturday and Stoke’s opening two fixtures next season.
Manager Gus Poyet has not ruled out re-signing Arismendi on loan next season.
