David Garcia-Baquero, a 25-year-old Spanish centre half from Celta Vigo’s B team, began a trial with Albion yesterday.
He will not feature in the penultimate fixture for the Reserves away to Millwall today (2pm) but Dean Cox is in the side.
Cox, who is being released by the Seagulls, was close to a move to Millwall before the loan transfer deadline.
The final match of the season for the Reserves is behind closed doors against Crawley at the training ground on Friday.
A Football League disciplinary hearing’s punishment verdict against Hartlepool for fielding the suspended Gary Liddle against Albion in their home win on Easter Monday will be announced tomorrow.
