Crawley boss Steve Evans is hoping to add at least one more player to his promotion-challenging squad before the end of the transfer window.
And he has revealed that Reds are being asked to bid for players targeted by other clubs in order to stimulate more interest.
Evans has signed 20 players since the start of the season including five this month.
Dannie Bulman’s loan move from Oxford was made permanent, John Dempster and James Dance joined from Kettering and Evans has also added goalkeeper Scott Shearer and midfielder Josh Simpson.
Five players have gone out on loan, the latest departure third-choice goalkeeper Nick Jordan who has joined Weymouth this week.
Evans said: “We have always said that we would like to bring in another wide option who can play left or right and something may happen.
“People also say we have got a lot of good strikers but you can never have enough so we might see if (co-owner) Bruce Winfield can find a few pounds for us under his pillow.
“But such is the profile we have got in the market we are now being asked to bid for players who have already been subject of interest from other clubs. It wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t do a bit more business before the end of the window.”
