Craig Noone has revealed how a Withdean roar told him he had scored his first goal for Albion.
The winger, sent on to torment Colchester’s toiling defence, cut inside for a superbly taken goal to ensure the leaders would take three points last night.
He said: “The right-back had been booked and it was up to me to get at him and cause problems.
“I cut in from the left-hand side, beat one or two and it ricocheted back to me and I just hit it with my right foot.
“I didn’t see it go in but the crowd let me know. I went mad when I knew it was in, shouting and screaming at Ashley Barnes and Elliott Bennett.
“Your first goal is always special and for it to be at home as well, I’m delighted.”
Noone is cup-tied for Saturday’s game at Watford but promised: “I’ll be there to support the lads.”
