CRAWLEY boss Steve Evans says he respects FA Cup opponents Torquay but insists: “We can beat them.”

Reds travel to Plainmoor tomorrow looking to add the League Two side to their list of Cup scalps and seal a fifth-round place for the first time in their history.

Evans’ men have already upset the odds by winning at Swindon and then knocking out Championship side Derby County.

He said: “I expect to win. People laughed and scorned when I said we could beat Swindon and Derby and I think we can beat Torquay. But we know it’s going to be tough.

“It will be as difficult as it gets, it will be like playing a top Conference game.

“There are nine or ten of their players who we have faced in the Conference. If they were in our league they would be challenging for the title – and we are away from home.

“From a personal point of view I would love to take a side into the fifth round. It is a big game for obvious reasons but no bigger than any league game, all of which we are expected to win this season.”
