Albion have been praised by Fulham for the way they play after sentencing Bobby Zamora to a losing comeback.

Zamora was in a Fulham side beaten 3-1 by the Seagulls’ reserves in a friendly at the Premier League club’s training ground yesterday.

The ex-Albion star played for 45 minutes, his first outing since breaking a leg against Wolves in September.

Charlie Oatway, Albion’s reserve team boss and former team-mate of Zamora, said: “I know Bob won’t be pleased with the result.

“It was a very good performance. Fulham were very complimentary about the way we try to play football.”

Lewis Dunk, partnering Tommy Elphick in the centre of defence, headed Albion into the lead.

Fulham were level by half-time thanks to Zamora but Albion won with second half goals by Cristian Baz and Jake Forster-Caskey.

Oatway added: “We made seven changes with half-an-hour to go, bringing on a lot of the development squad players. The pleasing thing is they kept on playing exactly the same way.”

Albion’s starting line-up included assistant manager Mauricio Taricco and fellow Argentinian Emmanuel Ledesma, making his second appearance on trial in his quest to earn a contract.

The 22-year-old former QPR attacking midfielder scored on his debut last month for the reserves against Wycombe Wanderers.

Tickets for Albion’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Stoke a week on Saturday are on sale today to blue members and Young Seagulls. They have sold about 1,000 tickets so far.
