Crawley took another step towards promotion with a 2-0 win over Mansfield at the Broadfield tonight.
Kyle McFadzean opened the scoring with a terrific strike from 25 yards in the 14th minute, his second goal in successive home games.
Reds created numerous chances after that with Matt Tubbs and Ben Smith both hitting the post while Stags' keeper David Grof made a string of fine saves.
The hosts sealed their win eight minutes from time when Tubbs scored his 34th goal of the season from an angled drive from the left-hand side of the box.
It stretched Reds' unbeaten run to 23 games and they are now 13 points clear at the top and 17 ahead of third-placed Luton.
Boss Steve Evans said: "We could have scored eight goals tonight. Their goalkeeper was terrific and the luck wasn't with us but at times we have ripped apart a very good Mansfield side."
