Steve Evans insists he will not disrupt the “great togetherness” in his Crawley dressing room when he begins recruiting for the Football League.

Reds are heading to League Two after clinching the Blue Square Bet premier title with five games to go on Saturday. They will be presented with the trophy after tonight’s all-ticket clash with second-placed Luton at the Broadfield (7.45pm).

Winning promotion has given Evans and his assistant Paul Raynor valuable extra time to start planning for League Two, although that process probably started weeks ago.

He says the key to their success has been the bond formed in the dressing room and retaining that will be crucial to their hopes for next season.

“You have to be around the place every day to realise what a good group of players we have got,” said Evans.

“Win, lose or draw we encourage them to have a positive outlook.

“The team nights out have a legendary status. I don’t get involved with that but some of the things I hear make me laugh.

“They are a great bunch and there is a great togetherness in that dressing room. Any player we look to bring in has to add to that togetherness.”
