Crawley Town completed their preparations for the new season as they went down 4-2 against QPR at Broadfield Stadium.

Charlie Wassmer scored in each half but Rangers showed their extra class by running out comfortable winners.

The Hoops took the lead after 11 minutes when Latvian international Kaspar Gorkss fired home from a corner and they almost doubled their advantage when Matthew Connolly rattled the crossbar.

Crawley came into the game and almost grabbed an equaliser before the interval with Ben Smith, John Akinde and Wassmer all going close.

Rangers doubled their advantage three minutes after the restart when substitute Lee Cook teed up Heidar Helguson to score from close range.

Wassmer pulled one back when he headed home from a Scott Nielson corner and they should have been level soon after as Nielson broke away only to shoot straight at Brian Murphy.

Helguson scored his second of the night after being set up by Akos Buszaky and Cook then made it 4-1 with a fierce shot.

Wassmer grabbed his second with five minutes to go with a well struck volley following more good work from Neilson.
