Gary Elphick scored a 90th-minute equaliser as Eastbourne Borough salvaged a 1-1 draw with Farnborough in an explosive finish at Priory Lane.

A player from each side was sent off after the final whistle following a big melee at the end of this Blue Square Bet south clash.

Borough substitute Eddie Hutchinson was shown the red card along with Farnborough midfielder Philip Appiah moments after Elphick had rescued a point with a close-range finish.

A crowd of 751 saw the visitors lead from the 24th minute when former Lewes forward Tom Murphy tapped home at the far post.

Steve Brinkhurst spurned a great chance to level five minutes before half-time and the game seemed to be drifting away from Borough until substitute Ethan Strevett squared for Elphick to score.

Seconds later Sonny Cobbs made a vital goalline clearance as Farnborough threatened a winner.

The game ended with players and substitutes from both sides pushing and shoving with each other.
