Gary Hart insists the goals will come as he bids to celebrate a landmark appearance against the club that rejected him before he joined Albion.

Hart plays his 350th game for the Seagulls today against Leyton Orient at Withdean.

The versatile stalwart has scored 45 goals for the club but has been on target just once since his winner at home to Leeds in mid-January.

Hart, turned down by Orient prior to signing for Albion from non-League Stansted eight years ago, admitted: "I know I'm not banging in the goals but I've never said that I would. I'm trying hard and the goals will come for me. It's not falling for me at the moment but Dean White (caretaker assistant manager) has told me just to keep going.

"He said I'm playing well and other people are scoring.

"It's not as if we are not scoring goals. As long as that happens I'm happy and I am really enjoying myself.

"At the moment I've had no pressure on me at all. I feel really relaxed, which is nice."

Hart, 30 next week, is back at centre forward where he began his Albion career under Brian Horton after spells at right winger and even at rightback for Mark McGhee last season.

Caretaker boss Dean Wilkins is the ninth different manager Hart has worked under and he wants him to land the job permanently.

"A lot of people say Dean Wilkins hasn't got the experience but how do you get experience?

"You get thrown in at the deep end and go from there and there is no doubt that he is a good coach. He's got so many ideas.

"He's brought a few things to my mind. Maybe he is the one and Dean White is a workaholic. He lives for football."
