Newcastle are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Albion prospect Lewis Dunk.
But the Toon will make a bid at the end of the season, not during the January transfer window, according to a source in the North-East.
Centre half Dunk has been linked with several top flight clubs, including Spurs, Arsenal and Aston Villa.
He completes at two-match suspension on Saturday, when Albion are at home to Wrexham in the FA Cup, after accumulating ten bookings.
