ALBION’S fringe players will not be leaving before the loan deadline – unless they ask to go.

The Seagulls’ first team squad has been swelled by five temporary signings, knocking several senior pros well down the pecking order.

Midfielders Ryan Harley and Matt Sparrow and versatile Frenchman Romain Vincelot are among those who have slipped out of contention.

Younger players on the fringes, like Torbjorn Agdestein and Jake Forster-Caskey, could be loaned out to gain more experience but boss Gus Poyet has no firm plans to reduce the size of his squad before the March 22 cut-off.

Poyet said: “The younger ones probably, the rest it is not my style to tell them to go. Of course, you understand if somebody is very upset and wants to go somewhere then they need to talk to us but at the moment no-one has.

“They know where they stand, I think that is the key. They know they need to be at their best and if anything happens and they find themselves in the team they need to make sure they produce and at the same time the team wins games. If they do that they have got a great chance.

“If they just give up then they will never make it, so it’s up to them really. I know it is frustrating but they also need to look at the players playing in their positions and how they are doing and how the team is doing.

“There is disappointment, a bit of frustration, but they know so they cannot complain.”

Vicente, Craig Noone and Lewis Dunk were all fit but overlooked for last Saturday’s 3-0 home win against Ipswich.
