Crawley have released former skipper Pablo Mills as they plan for life in League One.

Mills, who was stripped of the captaincy following the infamous Bradford Brawl, is one of six players told he is being let go.

Defender Dean Howell has also been released.

Former Albion goalkeeper Michel Kuipers is among those offered a new deal - despite being left out of the decisive win at Accrington on Saturday.

His fellow keeper Scott Shearer has also secured new terms.

Reds have taken up options on Kyle McFadzean, Curtis Davis, Hope Akpan, Sergio Torres and Scott Neilson, the man whose goal at Accrington secured promotion.

As well as Mills and Howell, Reds have released John Dempster, Ben Smith, Glenn Wilson and Byron Napper.

Mills has been with Crawley for five years and has thanked fans for their backing over that time.

He tweeted: "Wud like to thanks all the fans and players for a magical time at CTFC its been emotional and somethin I will Neva forget!!"

Napper added via Twitter: "Been an emotional day but would like to thank every1 involved at CTFC for all you have done its been a fantastic 4seasons."
