Gus Poyet has told Albion fans he has brought in valuable top level experience by signing Bruno Saltor from Valencia.

The 31-year-old Catalan has agreed a two-year deal at the Amex and officially becomes a Seagulls player on July 1.

His arrival to compete with Inigo Calderon for the right-back spot will be seen by supporters as another sign that his former Valencia team-mate Vicente is staying at The Amex.

The new boy, popularly known as Bruno at Valencia, made 17 first division appearances last term and started home and away against Stoke City in the Europa League.

Albion boss Poyet, who welcomed his squad back for first team training yesterday, said: “Bruno has a great amount of top-level experience in La Liga, the Champions League and the Europa League and to bring a player of his quality is a coup for us.

“He will give us competition at right-back, along with Inigo Calderon, and the pair of them give us great options in that position.”
