Boss Richie Barker has warned Crawley not to underestimate Colchester United tonight.

The Us are rooted to the bottom of League One without a victory in six games while Reds could go top of the table if they win at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Crawley go into the match on a high after making it five wins out of six games at Preston on Saturday but Barker said: “I went to watch Colchester against Brentford last Saturday and they were unlucky to lose. They are in a false position in the table and it will be a bigger test than people think.

“They have also had some difficult fixtures so far and I believe the table doesn’t really take shape until a dozen games or so.

“We want to go into the game confident but not complacent and make sure we show the same attitude and determination we had at Preston.”

Midfielders Hope Akpan and Josh Simpson return after serving one-match bans at Deepdale. Claude Davis is also in contention after recovering from a thigh injury but Sergio Torres remains sidelined.

Barker added: “Claude travelled to Preston but woke up on Saturday and was a bit tight so he is not a million miles away.”
