Albion striker Ashley Barnes is on the brink of a quickfire ban.

Barnes is a booking away from an automatic one-match suspension following four cautions in the first seven matches of the season.

He collected his latest yellow card for a clash with Watford’s Czech defender Daniel Pudil after coming off the bench in the second half of Tuesday’s 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road.

It added to cautions for Barnes against Swindon, Barnsley and Burnley.

The 22-year-old is not in danger of the fastest suspension for five bookings this season. That fate has already been suffered by Accrington Stanley's ex-Everton and Congo defender Toto Nsiala.

Two-goal Barnes could be restored to the starting line-up as Albion chase a fifth straight win today at Millwall, who have lost three of their last four games.
