Albion hope to complete the signing tomorrow of Tottenham's Alex Pritchard.
The Seagulls are in advanced talks with the 23-year-old attacking midfielder and his agent after agreeing a club record fee with Spurs.
Lengthy negotiations ended tonight with a deal yet to be finalised.
The up-front fee agreed with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will comfortably eclipse the initial £2.5 million Albion paid Peterborough for striker Craig Mackail-Smith in 2011.
