Matt Harrold will take charge of Crawley’s final game of the season as the club seek a new manager.
Reds owner Ziya Eren plans to have a new boss in place inside two weeks.
He would welcome a young manager as successor to Dermot Drummy, with whom the club parted ways yesterday.
Eren has also revealed plans to start an under-23s team and to improve and enlarge the Checkatrade Stadium.
He said: “I didn't come here for fantasy or to waste any time. I have to be successful and will give everything to the club."
Harrold, Reds’ vastly experiecned striker, took training today.
He will be in charge when Steve Evans and Mansfield visit tomorrow.
Eren said: "At the beginning of the season we made a lot of changes. Maybe the we haven't fulfilled our original expectations."
