Chris Nash insists Sussex can pull off the great escape against Hamsphire at Hove today.
Sussex need to produce something special to avoid slipping to a fourth defeat in five Championship matches against division one’s bottom side.
Ed Joyce’s men lead by just one run with only five second innings wickets remaining but Nash says they will not throw in the towel.
Nash said: “The one thing about this wicket is that you never know what can happen. Obviously it is going to be difficult but if we can set them a target of 150 then it could be a tight game.
“We need to fight hard in the morning and if Wrighty can get us up to a competitive total then I’d back our bowlers to bowl them out.”
