Sussex are set to confirm the signing of South Africa all-rounder David Wiese.

Wiese is due to follow compatriot Stiaan van Zyl and agree a Kolpak deal having impressed during a spell at Hove in the second half of last summer.

The 31-year-old was poised to add to his 26 limited overs appearances for South Africa in the upcoming Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka but has now decided to bring his international career to an end to play in England.

Wiese becomes the third South African to sign for Sussex this winter after van Zyl and Vernon Philander and is the club’s fourth signing in total with Laurie Evans also moving from Warwickshire.
