Sussex got their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign up and running with an emphatic win over Glamorgan at Hove.

Stiaan van Zyl top scored with 96 while there were important contributions from Ben Brown (60), Chris Nash (41) and David Wiese (35 not out) as Sussex made 292-6 from their 50 overs after electing to bat first.

That target was revised to 281 from 43 overs due to rain but Glamorgan got nowhere near as they were bowled out for 221 despite the efforts of Chris Cooke (62).

Danny Briggs took 3-53 while there were two wickets apiece for Jofra Archer and Wiese. Jerome Taylor also picked up a scalp on his Sussex debut.

The result - only the Sharks' second win in the 50-over competition since August 2014 - means Sussex have three points from their opening three games in the South Group having lost to Somerset on Sunday and seen their clash with Middlesex at Lord's washed out.

They take on Kent at Canterbury in their next game with Surrey visiting Hove on Sunday.
