Gloucestershire made steady progress towards a victory target of 167 to beat Sussex on the third day of their Championship game at Hove.
At tea they were 34-1, needing another 133, although they did lose skipper Chris Dent (13) just before the break when he was bowled by Ollie Robinson for the second time in the match.
Earlier, Sussex had been bowled out for 204 in their second innings, having resumed on 51-2.
They lost wickets regularly after lunch with Harry Finch (48) offering most resistance before he was bowled by Dan Worrall, who finished with 4-48.
Ryan Higgins finished with 3-65 and a career-best match return of 8-86.
With 43 overs remaining in the day Gloucestershire will be confident of completing victory today with a dire forecast for tomorrow.
