LAURIE EVANS says Sussex face a test of character as they prepare for a must-win game against Glamorgan today.

The Sharks head to Cardiff to play South Group basement side Glamorgan then host Essex at Eastbourne on Sunday knowing back-to-back victories will give them the chance to progress to the knockout stages of the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Successive washouts have left Sharks sixth in the group by virtue of having fewer wins than four of the sides above, who are also on six points.

Evans, last year’s top run scorer for Sussex in 50-overs cricket, admits it is crunch time.

He said: “Every game now is a must-win.

“In fact, if you’re looking to reaching a Lord’s final, then every game is a must-win from now on if you’re going to win it.

“This is a developing team and it will test the character of our team.”
