Jofra Archer struck new Sussex team-mate Alex Carey a painful blow today in England's World Cup semi-final clash with Australia.
Sussex pace ace Archer removed Aaron Finch for a golden duck and caused the Australians more pain when he knocked recent Sharks T20 signing Carey's helmet off with a bouncer.
Carey turned into a sharp bouncer from Archer after just five balls in the middle.
The ball reared up nastily as it struck him, dislodging his helmet in the process.
He would have been out had it fallen into the stumps but despite the obvious pain of the blow he managed to catch it as it fell from his head. Carey immediately called for attention and was attended by medics and physios from the Australia staff before carrying on.
He batted on with a bandaged head with blood seeping through before being caught by substitute fielder James Vince going for a big shot off Adil Rashid.
Jofra Archer's bouncer knocked Alex Carey's helmet off during the #CWC19 semi-final between England and Australia, earlier.
