Murray Goodwin is the second Sussex player to sign for the Indian Cricket League.

The competition, which is being run as a rival to the multi million-dollar Indian Premier League, have already recruited leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed for their next tournament which starts in March.

The pair will be assigned to one of the eight teams based in Indian cities for a Twenty20 competition which is due to finish in the first week of April.

Sussex expect both players to return to Hove in time for the game against MCC, although it is not certain whether either will take part at Lord's.

Chief executive Gus Mackay said: "It will be good pre-season preparation for both guys and they will be with us again in plenty of time for the new season."

Sussex's Mike Yardy pulled out of England Lions' penultimate match of their India tour moments before the start because of a migraine, forcing the Lions to bat with only ten men. The Lions lost by two wickets to Maharashtra yesterday .
