Sussex will make a late decision on whether to play Luke Wright in their CB40 clash at Kent tomorrow.

The England all-rounder has been sidelined since aggravating a knee injury last Wednesday and is due to see a specialist on Monday.

Wright is expected to need an injection which would keep him out for up to another ten days but may play as a specialist batsman at Canterbury.

Coach Mark Robinson said: “If he is pain free he could play some part in the game so we’ll assess it on Sunday.”

Wicketkeeper Matt Prior is unavailable as he links of with the England squad ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Cardiff on Thursday.

Will Adkin is also doubtful with a groin injury as Sussex bid for a fourth successive win in the competition.

Sussex face the prospect of losing in-form opener Ed Joyce for next Sunday’s County Championship clash with Yorkshire at Hove.

Joyce has been named in Ireland’s 14-man squad to take on Pakistan in two one-day internationals n next Saturday and the following Monday.

Sussex’s clash with Yorkshire begins on Monday and Robinson said: “We have got the potential to bring him back for part of the game but the logistics are very difficult.”
