Coach Mark Robinson is hoping for a change of luck as Sussex bid to mount a fightback against Warwickshire at Arundel today.

The visitors will begin the third day of the County Championship division one match with a lead of 119 with four first wickets innings remaining after a frustrating day in the field for Sussex yesterday.

A century stand between Will Porterfield and Ian Westwood and a partnership of 98 by Tim Ambrose and Darren Maddy took Warwickshire from 58-0 overnight to 370-6 at the close in reply to Sussex’s 251 all out.

Robinson said: “It was one of those days. We stuck at it really well but we didn’t get the breaks.

“On another day we could have bowled them out for 310. Edges were going wide of second slip and gully and when you moved the fielder a yard it went the other side.

“We are paying the price for not scoring enough runs in our first innings and when that happens you need the rub of the green to get back into it. Hopefully our luck will change today.”
