Whitehawk boss Darren Freeman has hailed the impact of veteran midfielder Kevin Maher.
The 37-year-old former Southend United captain joined just before Christmas and helped the struggling Hawks enjoy a good Christmas.
They followed a victory away to Eastbourne Borough on Boxing Day with an excellent performance despite going down 2-1 to runaway Conference south leaders Bromley last Sunday.
Freeman said: “I said when I signed him that Kevin would manage the games on the pitch for us and he has done that.
“I thought he was outstanding against Eastbourne Borough and Bromley. He has brought a spark to us and given the players a confidence.
“He looks after himself and has added a lot to our team.”
