Lewes are set to make a decision on trialist James Stinson next week.
The former Eastbourne Borough defender will play in tonight’s pay-what-you-like friendly against East Grinstead at the Dripping Pan (7.45pm).
However, the future of last season’s supporters’ player-of-the-year Sam Crabb remains unclear.
Australian Stinson has been with the Rooks throughout pre-season and has impressed with his versatility.
Assistant manager Danny Bloor said: “James played the whole game against Whitehawk on Tuesday. He will play again against East Grinstead and we will talk to him next week.”
Crabb has not featured since the opening game of pre-season against Albion and there has been no contact with the club, despite attempts by manager Garry Wilson and Bloor to reach him.
All money taken from the East Grinstead game tonight will go to Patina, a Lewes-based voluntary arts organisation.
