LEWES may look to bring in a defender on loan with Andy Pearson sidelined for up to three weeks.

Former Albion reserve Pearson picked up a hamstring injury which forced him off early in Friday’s 2-0 defeat at Dover.

With Danny Cullip still sidelined by injury, the Rooks are short of options with games coming up at home to Eastleigh in Blue Square south tonight and away to Kidderminster in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Manager Steve Ibbitson said: “Andy will be out for up to three weeks and we will need to do something about it.

“We might try to bring in a loan player because we have not got too much cover at the back.

“We have been fortunate with Danny being out that we haven’t had more injuries or suspensions.

“Andy has done well for us. Danny Cullip is a big miss but Andy has stepped into the breach very well.”

Lewes are also without Scott Chamberlain and Tim Rivers for tonight’s game.

Chamberlain serves a one-match suspension for an accumulation of bookings and it would be carried over to the Kidderminster game should tonight’s fixture become a victim of the weather.

Rivers misses both ties as he is involved in the latest stage of England Schools trials.

Teenage winger Steven Brinkhurst has returned to Albion following the completion of a successful one-month loan at the Dripping Pan.
