Matt Crabb has urged Eastbourne Borough to grab the chance to secure their Blue Square premier survival with a game to spare.

Victory over Kettering at Rockingham Road, combined with defeat for Forest Green Rovers, would guarantee Borough’s place in non-league’s top flight for a third season.

Anything less than three points and Borough will go into the clash with Oxford United at Priory Lane on the final day still facing the prospect of relegation.

Crabb is desperate to avoid that nerve-jangling scenario and hopes Rockingham Road will prove a happy hunting ground again after Borough reached their safety target of 50 points there 11 months ago thanks to a late strike from his brother Nathan.

The winger said: “I would like to think if we could get a result tomorrow it would be enough. It obviously depends on how other teams fare as well but it would be great to get rid of any doubt and go into the last game without any worries."
