Tim O'Shea says the Lewes dressing room is united in the belief they can beat the drop.
Rooks travel to fellow strugglers St Albans tomorrow for a six-pointer at the foot of the Blue Square Bet south table.
Rock-bottom Lewes are seven points adrift of tomorrow’s hosts, who are hovering just above the relegation zone, and manager O’Shea recognises the prospects of staying up do not look good.
He admitted: “If you were a betting man, then you would probably bet against us staying up.
“But as long as there is a belief in the dressing room then we can do it.
“There is a genuine belief in there that we are not a million miles away from hitting some good form.
“Some of the fans may doubt we can do it but we have to believe in ourselves.”
