Steve Claridge will make his Worthing debut against AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.
The veteran striker has joined the Rebels on a match-by-match basis and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at Woodside Road.
Claridge, 40, made his 1,000th professional appearance when he turned out for Bournemouth in a 4-0 defeat at home to Port Vale in December but has not played since.
Worthing manager Danny Bloor is hoping Claridge, who counts Albion among his 16 League clubs, will add experience to his young forward line and has refuted suggestions the player has joined the Ryman premier club for money.
Bloor said: "He just wants a game of football.
"Anyone who thinks Steve Claridge is coming to Worthing for money should think again. If he gets his petrol money he will be lucky."
Claridge added: "I need a game of football and I'm really looking forward to it.
"They have a lovely pitch. I remember it from when Brighton Reserves played there."
